Ages 5 and up Cost : $9 Sign up here Quest is an educational incentive program that uses badges and awards to encourage kids of all ages to take their education to the next level by delving deeper into subjects they are already interested in and exploring new ideas and experiences. Written by homeschoolers, this program seeks to show kids that everything is fun and educational. These 3 weeks we will be working on the Physics Badge. The kids will learn about Force & Motion, Friction & Gravity, and Air Resistance. We will be doing 'experiments' during class time on these concepts. Some of our experiments will include paper airplanes, falling feathers, marble runs, sliding on the floor, and an egg-drop competition. Students will also be encouraged to learn more about a famous physicist at home and to read an age-appropriate book about these physics concepts. Badges (pins) will be handed out on the last class for this mini-session. |
