Warwick Campus - 42 Frederick Street
Audience: Grades 7-12
During this two-day workshop, Eve Kerrigan, a creative writing teacher from SchoolOne, will work with students on the basics of short story writing. This workshop is designed to encourage young writers to channel their creativity and strengthen their writing skills. Students learn techniques for developing conflict, character, and setting. Includes will provide writing prompts, short fiction assignments and feedback for creative pieces.

Students are encouraged (but not required) to submit works to Write Rhode Island's a short fiction comptetion. The contest is open to Rhode Island students in grades 7-12. Write Rhode Island is looking for work that demonstrations creativity, technical skill, originality, personal voice and incorporates Rhode Island in some way as a theme.
