Project Wild DEM Teacher Training
When? Saturday, April 29, 8:30am-3pm Where? RIDEM Division of Fish and Wildlife Education Center,1B Camp E-Hun-Tee Place Exeter, RI 02882 (directions below) Who? ENRICHri Parents What? Growing Up WILD (pre-k to 2), Project WILD (K-12), and WILD Aquatic (K-12). These are internationally acclaimed, multidisciplinary curricula which uses environmental education to teach educational standards. The following website can delve further into Project WILD and their mission: http://www.projectwild.org/ http://www.projectwild.org/growingupwild.htm http://www.projectwild.org/projectwildwebsite/aquatic/ The Project WILD and WILD Aquatic curricula are not for sale and can only be obtained through training attendance. The reason? Research has shown that educators are more likely to use the curricula if they are familiar with the activities. The good news is that RIDEM Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Aquatic Resource Education program provides these workshops AND the curricula FREE OF CHARGE! Once participants finish the 8 hour training, they will receive 3 curricula which include the most recent update of Aquatic WILD. LUNCH & SNACKS PROVIDED! Please dress in comfortable, casual clothing. We will be doing some activities outside, weather permitting. Cost: $6 per person. A donation will be made to the ARE program in ENRICHri's name. Registration deadline is Friday, April 14. |
