Date Friday, March 22nd Time 1 pm - 3 pm Location Cumberland Library Hayden Center Rm 1&2 *Drive around the library to the Hayden Center which is on the left side of the Monastery Building. Pricing Info Registered Project FREE *please register per project **The Board voted to make all Community Events Free to all this year! Description Create a visual display (ex: tri-fold board) that explains your project or research. If you did a physical experiment, please bring that with you, either alone or in conjunction with the visual display. You are welcome to use the visual display, the experiment, or both. No projects containing nuts, weapons, or open flame will be permitted. All projects must be safe to be indoors and around children. All ages are invited to display a science project of their choosing. This is a showcase event, no awards will be given. Families may work together or have separate projects ***please complete a registration per project so we know how much space we will need. Email Amanda.Campbell@enrichri.org with any questions. RI Sate House

Enjoy a guided tour of the State House. The stops may include the Bell Room, where Rhode Island's replica of the Philadelphia Liberty Bell is displayed; the State Room, where Gilbert Stuart's famous portrait of George Washington hangs; and the Rotunda, where you can gaze upward at one of the world's largest, self-supported marble domes. This is a working building that houses the Rhode Island General Assembly and the offices of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, and General Treasurer of Rhode Island. Voices must be kept soft, and no running is allowed.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your tour time to pass through security. This is a guided group tour that lasts about an hour. All bags will be searched, so to save time, bring in as little as possible. Please register both adults and kids. The State House is located at 82 Smith Street. Access to the building is from the Smith Street side, which faces away from downtown Providence and the Providence Place Mall. Visitors unable to use stairs may enter through the staff entrance accessed from the small parking lot on the east side of the building. Metered parking is available on Smith, Francis and Gaspee streets. And nearby parking at the Providence Place Mall. Handicapped parking is available in the small parking lot on the east side of the building. Visitors unable to use stairs may enter through the staff entrance accessed from this parking lot. Elevators serve all floors of the State House. Wheelchairs are available free of charge for usage in the building. Capitol Police officers at the staff entrance will assist visitors in obtaining a wheelchair. Open food and drink may not be carried through the building. Eating and drinking are prohibited during guided tours. |

Blackstone Valley River Classroom

Ages 8-13
This is a 6 week hands-on experience with scientific tools and specimens on Fridays that will take place in the fully equipped River Classroom center located on the third floor of the Blackstone Valley building right next to the beautiful Blackstone River. Parents, you have the option to drop off your child or stay. Please ensure your child can handle a drop off situation and maintain a positive learning environment. The first session will be focused on our weather station and learning about sea level rise. The second session will focus on pH and water testing experiments, and the third session we will be learning about ecosystems and experimenting with our microscopes. The students will get hands-on experience with scientific tools and specimens, as well as a better understanding of our changing climate and how we measure it.
