Nicholas Farm Management Area
GPS Address: 247 Nicholas Road
Coventry, RI
Get to know a hidden gem in Coventry. Our guide, Mary Grande with RIDEM (the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management), will take us on an easy, under 2 mile walk through the property to talk about the habitat and wildlife of Nicholas Farm. This area is managed by controlled burn - Mary says " I was just out at Nicholas Farm, and the burn area looks AMAZING. It is incredible how much has grown over the course of just one summer! "

Be aware that the soil in this walk is fairly sandy --- bring sturdy shoes. A hat and water are also recommended.

The walk is fairly straight and out in the open (not into the woods). The entire experience, walking and learning about the area, will take approximately 2 hours.

There ground bees are present in the area. They have not present a problem for hikers and RIDEM employees, but, it's important for people with allergies to be aware.

Please register by September 14.
Register children & adults who will be on the walk. Space is limited.
