SUMMARY:Zoom Presentation: From Knowing to Doing: ADHD, Executive Functioning, and Homeschool Strategies
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday June 30, 2026 7-8.  \nZoom (a link will be emailed to you prior to the event)\n\nFrom Knowing to Doing: ADHD, Executive Functioning, and Homeschool Strategies\n• What if the struggle isn’t motivation—but executive functioning? In this practical session, occupational therapist and homeschool mom Sarah Collins will help families better understand the ADHD brain and how it impacts daily homeschool life. We’ll discuss executive functioning skills like task initiation, working memory, emotional regulation, and flexibility, while exploring real-life accommodations that support learning without shame. Parents will walk away with practical strategies to help children get started, stay engaged, and work with their brains instead of against them. Topics will also include the NICE framework for motivation and a balanced discussion on cognitive training and skill development. Because every child is different, every homeschool context is different, and every family’s desired occupations are different, there will also be plenty of time for questions and practical discussion tailored to real homeschool life.\n\nWe will have ample time for questions!\n\nBio- Sarah Collins, MSOT, OTR/L, is an occupational therapist and homeschooling parent dedicated to helping parents align homeschooling with their children’s unique needs.
