Introduction to Homeschooling: A Workshop for Parents New to Homeschooling or Interested in Homeschooling
The topics that will be discussed include: Homeschooling in Rhode Island: state laws, district policies and what to submit 101 Reasons Families Choose to Homeschool Curriculum Planning: Resources, Learning Styles, Homeschooling Methods, A Typical Homeschool Day The āSā word : socialization EnrichRI volunteers with many years of homeschooling experience will present this program that covers the basics of homeschooling. After the program, the presenters welcome you to stay and chat! Who: this is open to the public, you don't need to be a member to attend. Mad Science provides hands-on, interactive science education led by animated professional instructors. Audience: Grades 3-6 Cost: $10 per student Clubhouse Rules: Taking any Thursday class also entitles the student to free play that same day at the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Open swim, gym, common room and classrooms - parents must supervise! Must be a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket. Supervising parent or guardian must provide a background check (BCI), and siblings aged 5+ must be in a class or pay a $5 drop in fee. Register by February 2. |

January 11, 10 a.m. Dinosaurs!! (Kindergarten-2nd grade) See how scientists learn about dinosaurs. Make a cast of a dinosaur tooth to take home! January 25, 10 a.m. Bugs!! (Kindergarten - 6th grade) Learn about insects and dispel some of their myths. Build a gude to take home! February 8, 10 a.m. Magnetic Magic (Kindergarten-2nd grade) Devise your own cool experiments to test magn Clubhouse Rules: Taking any Thursday class also entitles the student to free play each Thursdays at the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Open swim, gym, common room and classrooms - with a supervising adult. Must be a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket. Supervising parent or guardian must provide a background check (BCI), and siblings aged 5+ must be in a class or pay a $5 drop in fee.
