Tuesday, January 3, 6:30pm at Panera in East Greenwich Come for encouragement, ideas, or just to get out of the house. Come any time between 6:30 and 10:00. We will plan this the first Tuesday of each month. Super casual moms hanging out. Registration helps us know how many seats to save, but this is a casual meet up, so we know registration doesn't mean commitment! |

Register by Friday, December 16, 2016 Learning the Blues (Ages 8+) When: Tuesdays Jan 3 - Feb 7 (6-week session) 11:15 - 12:15 1/3, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7 Where: ENRICHri Community Center, 1395 Nooseneck Hill Road Coventry RI Who: Ages 8+ What: If your child plays piano, keyboard, or guitar, even at a beginning level, help him or her to discover the source of jazz and rock music. Blues is one of the easiest musical structures and can be grasped by even young beginners. The class will cover the instantly recognizable (by all!) 12-Bar Blues form with which students can play thousands of different tunes, but also which teaches the art of improvisation ("jamming"). By class' end, each student will have a firm grasp of the origin and structure of rock and roll as well as musical understanding that will last a lifetime. Price: $80 |

When: Tuesday Jan 3 - Feb 7 (6 sessions) 10 AM - 11AM Who: Ages 10+ What: Help your child discover one of the world's greatest forms of self-expression with this informative hands-on class! Any musically-inclined teen or tween can attend. All you need is a portable electronic keyboard for class. We will cover all aspects of songwriting: basic music theory, melody writing, background chords, and even lyrics. Each participant will walk away with an individually composed song they will be proud of. Also, students will have the opportunity to perform his or her song for fellow classmates and video-camera-wielding parents. Note: Some basic musical experience (on any instrument) is preferred but not required. Price: $80 Portable electronic keyboard required for class |
