Generation Ocean - join the race to protect our incredible blue planet.

Wanted - Teens who are curious, passionate, and ready to jump in with two feet to learn about the Ocean’s Rights, be an educational ocean activist, and create a video project using project-based learning.

Ocean Race Learning offered a free curriculum and training to lead a group of teens to become: Generation Ocean - join the race to protect our incredible blue planet.  

They will learn about: 

Ocean rights

The council of all beings

The ecocentric lens on nature

The amazing ocean 

Stories from around the world

Ocean & Climate

Blue carbon-climate hero 

Ocean advocacy 

Youth voices

The Ocean Race

Then they will work in small teams of 3-4 kids to create a 2-3 minute video that answers the question, “How can we increase awareness and understanding of ocean rights in our community?” They will submit this video by March 31st to the Ocean Race Contest. The winners get an all-expense-paid trip to Denmark for the final stop of the Ocean Race.

We will also coordinate to go together to Ocean Park Live in Newport during the week it is open starting May 13th

Wednesdays 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Zoom

Starting Feb 27th for 5 weeks, ending on 3/29/23

Take a tour of the Rhode Island Community Food Bank and see how the Food Bank distributed 15 million pounds of food in the past year through their network of 140 member agencies, providing food to 63,000 Rhode Islanders each month.
Your tour will take about 20 minutes.
Appropriate for all ages.
Arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.
This tour is free but we encourage you to bring non-perishables (like canned goods) with you to donate at the venue.
