Champions for the Sea for Ages 5-8  is The Ocean Race’s award-winning learning program, which introduces children to the wonder and excitement of the adrenaline-packed sport and the importance of looking after our incredible blue planet. The Ocean Race offered free training and curriculum to our homeschooling parents and 4 ENRICHri parents took the training and are now excited to offer this amazing learning opportunity to our kids.

The course takes children on a journey through the history of the Race, exploring the boats, teams, and route, before explaining our connection with the ocean and the issue of plastic pollution and how we can tackle it. There is also a module about the wonders of ocean science and the challenges of studying its vast, unexplored depths.

This is a 10-week program, including classroom learning, on-the-water experiences, a tour of a tall ship, an amazing day of hands-on learning at Ocean Park Live during the Newport stop of the Ocean Race, and will conclude with a beach clean-up and a program run by our teens to learn how no matter your age, you can make a difference.
