Caratunk Wildlife Sanctuary

Step back in time at the Caratunk Wildlife Refuge to experience the history of maple sugaring. Discover how Native Americans started maple sugaring, how Colonial settlers continued the tradition, and how the practices have been modernized in today's industry. Program also includes tree ID and a discussion of the ecology of Maple trees in our New England forests.

This field exploration with a Rhode Island Audubon naturalist is designed for students in grades 3-8. All welcome to attend.

Cost: $10/child, $2/adult
Children 3 and under are free
