In this 4 week series, kids will work to on their video creation and editing skills. Designed for age 8-12. No cost. Space is limited. Not drop off, each child must have a adult. Please sign up only if you can commit to the series,, Apple has designed this for our group to work together and add new skills and techniques each week, culminating in an advanced-user class. It is useful but not required to have an ipad or iphone at home to work on skills between sessions. Thursday 1/23 1:00pm-2:30pm - Video Lab for Kids: Making a Movie Trailer (90 min) Kids and families will learn how to make movies together. Kids will brainstorm ideas, storyboard, and get hands-on capturing footage with iPad. They’ll collaborate to create an exciting movie trailer and explore editing techniques using iMovie. Each group will showcase their trailer at the end of the session. Bring your iPad or we’ll provide one. Thursday 1/30 1:00pm-2:30pm - Video Walk: Capturing Cinematic Shots (90 min) From shooting a video for social to starting your full-length movie, learn camera techniques that you can incorporate when recording on iPhone. You’ll collaborate with others to set up and practice different shot types on location. Get hands-on with the latest iPhone in this session or bring your own. Thursday 2/6 1:00pm-2:30pm - Video Walk: Manipulating Time (90 min) Add energy to your videos by manipulating time. Bring drama to a moment using Slo-mo. Capture a sunrise with time-lapse or hyperlapse. You’ll learn how to shoot and create these videos using iPhone. Get hands-on with the latest iPhone in this session or bring your own. Thursday 2/13 1:00pm-2:30pm - Video Lab: Small Screen Magic Co-created with Zach King (90 min) Create imaginative videos with the illusion of teleporting, disappearing, and other visual tricks. Using recording and editing techniques inspired by video-maker Zach King, our Apple Creatives will show you how to create a “jump cut” scene that brings magic and storytelling to your video using the Clips app. Get hands-on with the latest iPhone in this session or bring your own. |
