Homeschooling Children with Special Needs
Homeschooling is a challenge for many families and children. How do you handle the stresses of homeschooling AND special needs? Whether your child has a learning disability, medical need, or psychological difficulty, homeschooling is a unique opportunity to meet those special needs in your family’s own special way. Join several veteran homeschool parents, who have dealt with a number of special needs, including dyslexia and Asperger’s syndrome, and gain strategies to help you. Also, expand your personal support group to fellow parents you will meet at this session.

Digital DSLR Photography 101

When: Tuesdays, March 1, 8, 15, 22 12:30 - 2:00

Where: ENRICHri Community Center, Coventry, RI

Who: ages 12 - 18

What:
In this class, students will learn how to use a digital camera in manual exposure mode. Learning how to use a camera in manual mode is the first step in creating the images that you envision as an artist. We will cover all of the basics of how shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to create an exposure. Each week students will progress through the exposure triangle, complete weekly assignments, receive feedback on their images, and learn how to see as an artist. At the end of the class, students will have a beautiful portfolio of the images that they made. The instructor for this class will be photographer, Cheryl Johnston.

REQUIREMENTS:
Students will need to provide their own DSLR camera and preferably have access to a computer with basic photo editing capabilities.
Students will need to have access to Adobe Lightroom. They can install the 30 day trial in time for the first class.
Students will need to print some of their photos either at home or at a place like CVS in order to share for critiques.

Body Art for Littles

When: Tuesday, March 22nd
11:00 - 12:00

Where: ENRICHri Community Center

Who: aimed at ages 4-7 (aka, the Littles!)

What:
Our bodies can create art!
Working with the Teen Group we will make some art for the community center using our feet! Paint plus feet = art!!
But that's not all!
We will also have story time and body tracing, creating a life size piece of art of ourselves to take home.

Cost: $6 per student
