Living History Day in the Park

Monday, May 20th, 2024 (Rain date is June 3rd)

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Burrillville Pavillon

75 Tinkham Lane

Still Water Mill Ctr

Harrisville, Rhode Island 02830

Registration opens April 1st at 8 pm

Homeschoolers who sign up will need to select if they want to present their project or they can select to just be part of the History Walk. Every homeschooler's project will be part of the history walk (even if they are also presenting). You must indicate who/what your homeschooler is being for living history day when registering, selections will not be able to be changed, as a scavenger hunt will be included in our history walk.

Multiple people can be the same historical figure/landmark/animal. Historical people, animals that made history, or famous landmarks are all acceptable projects.  Historical projects and information can be presented by poster board, paper mache, costumes, or any medium your imagination can create. The more creative, the better! Costumes are encouraged, not required and no weapons are allowed. Grown-ups are welcome and encouraged to dress up too.

Every homeschooler that signs up will need to submit one question and answer for the Living History Walk scavenger hunt sheet by emailing their question and answer to Lauren- at onnie46@yahoo.com by Friday, May 5th. Don't worry we will remind you of this via email.

The answer to the submitted question should be clearly displayed on the project.  For example, if you decide to build a model of the Eiffel Tower out of cardboard, your project text may be displayed near it and say "The Eiffel Tower was finished in 1889. Your clue would be - What year was the Eiffel Tower completed?

The event will end with lunch on the lawn (bring your own picnic) and enjoy the grounds of the Pavillon which include a grassy area and playground nearby.

Questions: please email Carissa - chrissa3621@gmail.com or Lauren  onnie46@yahoo.com.
