Near the North Attleboro compost dump

Registration opens 9/17 8pm
Sunday October 19 10am - 1pm North Attleboro, MA Fossil Exploration Jen Davis (professor with an MS in applied geosciences) and Steve (a botonist and expert in the fossils of the Carboniferous period of geologic history, specifically plant fossils from this location and other locations in the region) will lead us in a day of exploration to find fossils!. We will discuss fossils and the environment from a time period approximately 325 million years ago. Before dinosaurs. So mostly plant fossils. Possibilities for insects or reptile footprints. Short easy dirt road walk in to digging site. Bring sweatshirt, work gloves collection bags. Optional mason / rock hammer and Flat head chisels. Newspaper or rags to wrap up finds. We will explore, learn and have a lunch break (bring your lunch!!). We will be near the North Attleboro compost dump. The address for that is 192 Plain St, North Attleborough, MA 02760. Parking: Rt 152. Park and meet on the right side of 152 before the 95 overpass. All ages welcome! Pricing is per family so only register for ONE family, then enter the names of the kids when asked. |
