Thursdays 6 pm - 7 pm.
Six Week Session Online class for ages 10+. Build the world of your dreams! Put your imagination to work as you create and develop a believable and compelling world. Plan out maps and your environment, create fantastic creatures that survive in your world's habitats, introduce peoples and races and establish their societies and cultures, plan out your world's timeline to get the big picture of your world's story, establish rules and order, and create meaningful names and places in your world. Use your newly found world for story-telling, writing, creating plays, board-games, videos, or anything else you can imagine! Students must be able to read and write, and there will be weekly homework that builds off previous lessons. To participate, kids will need internet access and a device a camera and microphone. They'll also need to download the Zoom app. Taught by Bryan Sirios. |

Six Week Session Online get-together for ages 5-9 . We will chat for the first 10 minutes (bring a snack!), and then we'll do activities together like Lego Challenge, Scavenger Hunt, Animal Mania, Toys with a T, and Art Creations. To participate, kids will need internet access and a device a camera and microphone. They'll also need to download the Zoom app. Taught by Marcia and Bryan Sirios. |

Fields Point Wastewater Treatment Facility

Ever wondered what happens after you flush the toilet? To find out, join us for a tour of the Narragansett Bay Commission’s Field’s Point Wastewater Treatment Facility, the largest clean water facility and the nation’s third-oldest. Commissioned in 1901, the facility is one of the most technologically advanced wastewater treatment facilities in the nation. Topics we will discuss that tie in to the treatment process here and keeping the bay clean: - trash, chemicals, metals, etc.. that can be harmful - the removal of bio solids from the water and what we do with the dried up sludge we get from that - nitrogen removal - stormwater - chemicals used to disinfect - wind power – we have 3 massive wind turbines on campus - green energy Please dress warmly and wear closed-toed shoes. This trip is only open to ages 8 and up due to Narragansett Bay policy for this facility. Cost: Free Sign up by March 6. |
