Casey Farm
2325 Boston Neck Road
Saunderstown, RI 02874
This is a two part class offered by farm educators at Casey Farm with Historic New England. Please bring a picnic lunch to eat between segments.

10 a.m. - 12 p.m: At the Bay
The salt pond and cobble beach at Casey Farm offer exciting settings to explore the diversity of life along Rhode Island’s greatest natural treasure: Narragansett Bay. Students learn about fresh and saltwater wetlands and then discover the wide variety of organisms that live in the salt marsh, salt pond, and cobble beach. The Jamestown Bridge provides a backdrop to a discussion of human influences on the bay.

12 pm - 12:30 pm: Please bring a picnic lunch to enjoy

12:30 - 3pm: On the Farm
What is a farm and what happens there? To find out, students meet farm animals, explore fields and farm buildings, and participate in hands-on animal and seasonal crop activities that demonstrate how every element contributes to the success of the farm.
