Introduction to Homeschooling

Introduction to Homeschooling: A Workshop for Parents New to Homeschooling or Interested in Homeschooling
The topics that will be discussed include:
Homeschooling in Rhode Island: state laws, district policies and what to submit
101 Reasons Families Choose to Homeschool
Curriculum Planning: Resources, Learning Styles, Homeschooling Methods, A Typical Homeschool Day
The “S” word : socialization
EnrichRI volunteers with many years of homeschooling experience will present this program that covers the basics of homeschooling.

After the program, the presenters welcome you to stay and chat!

Who: this is open to the public, you don't need to be a member to attend.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend just so we have an idea how many people to expect.

Come mingle with other homeschool families this winter while sharing lunch.

Each lunch serving includes 2 slices of cheese pizza, baby carrots, and either a juice box or water.
Each serving is $5.
Feel free to split a serving, or purchase two servings if you'd like a little more food!

Theater Games

When: Tuesday, January 17, 2017 11:30 - 12:30

Where: ENRICHri Community Center, 1395 Nooseneck Hill Road Coventry, RI

Who: ages 4 and up

What: Join actress Valerie Remillard from Experiments in Theater to play theater games that spark creativity, while building confidence! Students four and older will enjoy interacting with each other, while trying their hand at acting through this workshop. As theater games are versatile, specific games will be chosen to meet the particular age range of registered students. No reading is required to participate.

Cost: $10 per person

Salt Dough Snowmen
Tuesday, January 17, 11:30 am -12:15 pm
ENRICHri Community Center
Ages 4 and under

Let's make some snowmen together...inside! Our smaller ENRICH members will be challenged to cut out and paint salt dough snowmen.

Hot chocolate and marshmallows will be provided to help all feel festive and toasty.

This ia stand alone program, but it also is a complementary program to meet the needs of our younger members while older children might be attending Theater Games or Learning the Blues.

*Allergy notification: wheat flour will be used in this program.

Cost: $3.50 per person

For ages 4-10

Join us to paint a plucky winter penguin following a few easy steps--or go off book and customize your own wacky waddler! We will use acrylic paint so dress for a mess. Please bring a nut free snack to share at this child's version of the ever popular paint party!

Cost: $8 per person

Come start the New Year off with a little physical activity for yourself and the kids in this New Year themed family yoga! No experience necessary. All levels of physical ability are encouraged to participate in this all ages activity. Participants might want to bring a yoga mat, towel, or blanket for their comfort. Lead by ENRICHri member and yoga instructor Kali Knight.

Time: 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM at the ENRICHri Community Center

Cost: $2 per family (Pay for one attendee and list names of everyone attending in the members attending field.)
