Special Events
Homeschoolers will need to select a historical figure at time of sign up. This can be a person, an incident, a place or landmark. Children are encouraged to dress up and present their historical figure but it is NOT required to participate. However, every student signed up must complete a visual project for the historical scavenger hunt.
Historical projects and information can be presented by poster board, paper mache, model etc. Costumes are encouraged, not required and no weapons are allowed. Every homeschooler that signs up will need to submit one question and answer for the Living History Scavenger Hunt sheet by emailing their question and answer to Lauren- at onnie46@yahoo.com by Monday May 5th. Look for a reminder via email as the event gets closer. The answer to the student's submitted question should be clearly displayed on the project. For example, if you decide to build a model of the Eiffel Tower out of cardboard, your project text may be displayed near it and say "The Eiffel Tower was finished in 1889. Your clue would be - What year was the Eiffel Tower completed? The event will end with lunch on the lawn (bring your own picnic) and time to enjoy the grounds of the Pavillon which include a grassy area and playground nearby. Adult ticket is NOT required. This is NOT a drop off event. Adults must be present. |
