Every other Wednesday for 8 weeks starting Feb 12, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Feb 12, Feb 26, March 11, March 25 Cost: $40 per family ( to keep costs low we may ask participants to bring in some of their own supplies). *Note, to particpate in this program, the adult caregiver in the group must have a BCI on file! If you do already have a BCI on file, you can submit one to bci@enrichri.org. Wk 1- batoning & setting up a cooking fire Wk2- primitive cooking Wk3 Wellness Part 1: Salves, Tintures & Tonics Wk 4- Sage Smudges & Purification Rituals This program will focus on outdoor exploration, survival skills, foraging, wildlife, self-sustaining practices, and more. Our hope is that when given some guidance and tools children of all ages will take part in lots of child-led learning together. Exploring and learning about the world around them. At the same time, learning teamwork and important life skills while building self-awareness and esteem for themselves and others. We also encourage families to put together their own survival kit! *Compass *Fire starter *Magnifying glass *Kindling *Pocket knife Just a few things for our first day of wildschool! * I do like to have a morning gathering on the 1st day of a new session so we can go over some safety stuff and general information. I ask that if this is your 1st time attending wild school, please try to be there by 9:30. If you have purchased anything off the survival kit list bring it with you! * Everyone should pack a luch and snacks for the day. Some families like to bring food to share! But please so not count on this to feed your kiddos. There is no set lunch time so please eat when you need to. * This is NOT a nut free program or building so if there is anyone who has a food allergy please let me know I can tell everyone in my morning greeting so we can do our best to keep everyone safe. * IT MAY BE MUDDY SO PLEASE WEAR APPROPRIATE SHOES. * We will be outside most of the day so dress appropriately. * There is always a indoor space for us to be warm with tables, chairs, a kitchen (no stove but there is a microwave) and a bathroom. * Please be respectful of the building, what is in it & the property. Clean up after yourself as best you can when you are done using a space. * Every child is expected to have a adult responsible for them. This doesn't mean you have to be by their side all day, but checking in to make sure they are safe is always good. * Stacey and I will be there to facilitate the use of tools & explain/help with the days project but please keep in mind that this is a unstructured unchooling program so there will be no 'classes' or expectations of participation. Just lots of organic, child led learning! * We need to leave the building as we found it so end of the day clean up help is always appreciated. * Remember that every child leaves every situation with a new lesson learned. It may not be the lesson you expect and it isn't always taught by a teacher, but they are always learning! Can't wait to see everyone!! There is a fire burning at all times so please be aware of that if your littles are outside unattended. Some families like to bring things they can roast on the fire, hot dogs, fruit, sometimes cake! Please feel free to do the same :) *** Number of Attendees: Put 1 to register your entire family for one price**** |
