The salt pond and cobble beach at Casey Farm offer exciting settings to explore the diversity of life along Rhode Island’s greatest natural treasure: Narragansett Bay. Students learn about fresh and saltwater wetlands and then discover the wide variety of organisms that live in the salt marsh, salt pond, and cobble beach. The Jamestown Bridge provides a backdrop to a discussion of human influences on the bay.

Catch and identify organisms  in seine nets
Learn about estuaries and how they differ from the oceans
Go on a seashore scavenger hunt
Explore the shoreline, find crabs, and discover other tidal zone creatures

There is no age requirement, but the program is designed for grades Kindergarten - grade 4.   Register children only. Chidren under age 3 may tag along for free.
