| Spend the day at Prudence Island with a Narragansett Bay National Estuairne Research Reserve Program naturalists!! The naturalists will meet us at the ferry, take us to their nature center, then take us to different spots on the island. We will see harbor seals hauled out on the rocks, visit forests and streams and a pine barren habitat. Activities are liking to include hiking, birding, freshwater sampling for macroinvertibrates, and climbing for an amazing view at the top of Pine Hill. Bring food, sunscreen and anything else you will need for the day. |
The Prudence Island Ferry leaves Bristol at 9:45 a.m., and leaves Prudence Island to return turn Bristol at 4:15. The ride is about 30 minutes. Online reservations are available or you can buy tickets at arrival.
This program is free, BUT you are responsible for your own transportation!! Anticipated ferry fees:
$12 round trip for age 12-adult
$5 round trip per child age 4-11
Infant through age 4 is free.
Some seats are available on the NBNERR passenger van. Otherwise, you will need to bring your own car. Passenger vehicle is $63 round trip. That includes the driver, but not any passengers. We encourage families to carpool and split cost.
