Art Class with Lynne DeBeer
Mondays 1pm - 2pm
October 15 - November 18 (5 weeks)
Community Fence Point Community Center, 933 Anthony Road, Portsmouth
Age 11 and up.
Cost $50
Students will a variety of media to explore concepts like form, color, composition, light, shape - this will be a formal art class.
A materials list will be provided in advance.
This class occurs at the same time as the Portsmouth co-op but is a separate fee. Students do not need to be enrolled in co-op in order to participate in this class.
Class is indoors at the upper level of the community center. Building policy is that all wear masks, unless vaccinated.
About Lynne Debeer:
Lynne studied at the Art Students League of NYC and Pratt University, and then earned a BA at Skidmore College. She then pursued further studies at the Vermont Studio Center, Bennington College and UMASS Dartmouth in printmaking, bookmaking and painting. Lynne had a 40-year career in graphics, art directing and design, while always pursing her passions of painting and teaching. . She has been an arts administrator (museum), fine arts consultant (Dumont Landis, NYC) and has worked with youth and artists for over 30 years to develop and market their work. Lynne is currently teaching visual art and design part time at Sophia Academy (an independent middle school for low-income girls) in Providence, RI. Lynne owns Inside/Out Studio in Bristol, RI.
