These drop-off lessons run by Greater Fall River Recreation covers basic sailing, which includes knot tying, rigging a boat, leaving and returning from a dock or mooring, navigating a small boat, man overboard, and racing. Sessions are mostly on the water, and kids will get wet.
COVID precautions:
- Classes are mostly outdoors
- Maximum 6 students for each group
- Masks must be worn, even outside. Kids in younger group can take masks off while sailing solo in prams. Older kids will be two to a boat, so will wear masks.
- Temperature will be taken prior to each session.
No prior experience necessary. The two groups use different boats; a younger learner who is closer to larger / teen-size should take the teen class.
