April 10, 10am - 12pm
Stomp Rockets/Space Origami
Explore how a store bought stomp rocket works by taking one apart. Use what you have learned to build your own, creatively, using alternate materials. Those with more dexterity can learn the art of folding paper, which has inspired designs for NASA – from satellite solar panels to a “starshade” to other types of hardware. Make “solar panels” on a mock-up satellite fit into the “rocket” designed to bring it into orbit, as well as other origami.
May 8th, 10am - 12pm
Andy Goldsworthy/ Art in Nature
Use natural materials to construct Goldsworthy inspired sculptures. Weather permitting, this class will be held outdoors. Weather not permitting, it can be held indoors.
