Blacksmithing: A Hands-On Introduction (8+)

Audience: Age 8-14 
Cost: $75

In this 3 hour hands-on workshop, participants will learn about blacksmithing - the art of heating iron & steel and hammering hot metal on an anvil to change its shape.

Participants will learn about heat management; use of the forge, anvil and hammer; safety; and bending metal.  Each participant will have the opportunity to forge an S hook.

Closed toed shoes and tied back hair are required.

Minimum 3 participants,  maximum 6.  3:1 instructor ratio.

We hope to run additional programs for those who complete the introductory course.
