Smith's Castle: Colonial Rhode Island

Smith's Castle, build in 1678, is a national historic landmark that offers educational programs by trained docents in period costumes. In our tour, we will talk about colonial life: food, clothing, medicine, chores,animals, etc. . We will divide into groups, with younger kids (or those who wish) focusing more on day to day life of colonial children, and older kids (or those who wish) focusing more about Rhode Island history, such as the trading posts established by Richard Smith and Roger Williams, King Phillip's War.and slavery at the site.
Kids will also make butter by hand and can enjoy the butter on bread slices.
Audience: Aimed at grades K-5
Cost: $6 per student
