Rhode Island and the Slave Trade

During this program, historical society librarians will provide attendees with key strategies for using the collections pertinent to the slave trade and related industries. Materials include an in-depth review of the “Papers of the American Slave Trade” collection on microfilm, as well as the “Guide to People of Color in the RIHS Collections.”  

The librarians will also provide an overview of the Research Center's vast collection of printed items, manuscripts and graphics, and talk about strategies for researching archives and interpreting primary sources.

Note: this event is for up to 15 people TOTAL, please include all who will attend, including adults. Adult attendees are welcome.
