Edesia is a unique non-profit organization that manufactures ready-to-use foods. It is credited with saving millions of lives with their high-nutrition, easy-to-transport products. The company is best known for its Plumpy'Nut peanut-based high-energy food. One packet is enough to fully treat one child suffering from severe acute malnutrition. . Each year millions of "miracle packets" leave Edesia’s Rhode Island factory and are delivered into the hands of malnourished children all over the world by humanitarian aid workers working in the hardest-to-reach and most inhospitable places on the planet. Tour notes:
This factory processes peanuts.
All guests must wear closed-toed shoes.
All ages are welcome.
Cost: $10 per person. This will be used to further their mission to treat and prevent malnutrition in the world's most vulnerable populations.
