Seining the Sakonnet at  Norman Bird Sanctuary

Students will learn the basics of estuarine ecology and how to use a seine net to sample Narragansett Bay’s rich abundance of life. We’ll identify and discuss each species we catch. Students will get wet, so extra water shoes are a must, and a change of clothes is recommended.

Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to eat before the program! Consider coming earlier in the day to take part in the Discovery Hike.

Recommended for ages 6 to teens
$10 per child
Kids 2 and younger can tag along for free, if they don't participate in the program
1 adult free per family; additional adults $5
