Women of the Golden Age at Lippitt House
Friday, April 28, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Lippit House, 119 Hope Street, Providence RI

Lippit House is Providence's premiere Victorian house museum. Built in 1865, it captures the brilliance of Victorian design and represents a time in Providence's industrial history. This docent-led program includes a tour of this historical home, discussions, and activities, which will focus on the role of women in 19th century Providence. We will discuss how the Lippitt women engaged in civic issues related to their own interests. Through an art and persuasive writing activity, students will be asked to identify and explore the contemporary issues important to them.
