Description The Tomaquag Museum is Rhode Island's only Indigenous museum and offers a unique window into the rich cultural heritage of the Narragansett people and other tribal communities of Southern New England. This visit will provide our students with an authentic learning experience that brings history to life through artifacts, stories, and cultural perspectives often missing from standard curricula.

During our one-hour guided tour, knowledgeable Indigenous educators will lead us through exhibits featuring traditional crafts, tools, artwork, and cultural items. Students will learn about both historical and contemporary Indigenous experiences, helping them develop a more complete understanding of our region's complex history and the continuing presence of Indigenous communities today.

This field trip aligns beautifully with social studies, history, art, and cultural awareness educational goals. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with materials that deepen their appreciation for diverse perspectives and indigenous knowledge.

Adult ticket is needed.

This is NOT a drop off event. Adults must be present.
