WINTER WILDSCHOOL SESSION 1 REGISTRATION INFO!!
It's time once again to announce another winter session of Wildschool! This has become a rite of passage for this wonderful co-op, as we brave the elements in the relative comfort of the Simmonds shelter beside a roaring fireplace (and two well placed propane heaters). This shelter comes with electricity, lights, and a few plugs to use, so we can all enjoy some creature comforts while the kids play. This is an open air shelter, and it can get rather chilly, so be sure to bring some hot coffee or cocoa and bundle up with your warmest sweaters and coats! We strongly encourage bringing a second change of clothes, as kids can get quite wet and cold before the end of the day.
New for this season is a BYO Hot Chocolate Station. I will provide the water and a single K-Cup machine, you supply the rest. Don’t like hot chocolate, then bring tea bags or k-cup coffee pods. The winter sessions have lovingly been dubbed Giant Rock School, as the children are completely drawn to a massive rock formation right near the shelter where we've seen them play for hours on end having the time of their lives while the adults huddle around the fire.
We need a minimum of twenty families to keep the price at $56.00 per family for 5 weeks!.
Wildschool is loosely structured, with different nature based activities and crafts available each day for kids to do at their own leisure. Past activities have included fire starting, foraging, hiking, plant and animal identification, leaf printing, candle and soap making, first aid, campfire cooking, and many others.
Wildschool is NOT a drop-off event, and parents will be expected to stay near their children until they are familiar with the area.
Who can come:
- We have kids of all ages sign up for Wildschool, from littles to teenagers.
- We won't know the general age range for this particular session until there's several signups on the books, so if you'd like to know if your older child will have people to hang out with it can be hard to tell until just before registration ends.
- Parents and Guardians who have a CURRENT Background Check through RI, CT, or MA. You must have your BCI in before registering. Background Checks must be sent to BCI@enrichri.org.
Registration:
- Opens Wednesday November 20th at 8pm
- Closes Tuesday December 3rd at 8pm
- No limit on families.
- Price is $56 PER FAMILY (not per child!), but we MUST have 20 families sign-up!!
