Deadline to register is Friday, June 10th

When: Wednesday, June 22nd at 10:45 - 12:00
Please arrive by 10:45 to pass through security for an 11:00 tour start time
(We suggest that you do not bring in any bags or items that are not necessary for
the completion of the tour, as each bag will need to be examined by security.)

Where:
Rhode Island State House
Smith Street
Providence, RI

Who: all ages are welcome
(there are a lot of stairs but if anyone has a problem with stairs, or brings a stroller, the elevator can be used)

What: A guided tour of the State House: The stops include the Bell Room, where Rhode Island's replica of the Philadelphia Liberty Bell is displayed; the State Room, where Gilbert Stuart's famous portrait of George Washington hangs; and the Rotunda, where you can gaze upward at one of the world's largest, self-supported marble domes.

There are no public parking lots at the State House. There is metered parking for cars along the street as well as affordable parking at the Providence Place Mall. This is located across the street from the South Entrance (not the Smith Street entrance), though patrons must enter through the Smith Street entrance.

Once the group has passed through the security check, your tour guide will be waiting for you at the Capitol Police desk, to the right of the main staircase.

It is the parent’s responsibility to remind children that this is a working building. Voices must be kept soft. Children are not allowed to run in the State House.

Cost: free (be sure to register both adults and children for an accurate head count)
