Description

An invasive water chestnut cleanup will involve going out on kayaks for a quick five minute paddle over to Valley falls Pond, lifting the chestnut out of the water, and depositing it in floating laundry baskets. The baskets will then be picked up by a boat and taken to shore.

We can take all ages at the cleanup, as those who are too young to be in kayaks can help out with ground support and bag holding.

We can take up to 24 people at a time in kayaks.

Children over twelve can go in a kayak on their own, otherwise young children will have to be in a double with their parent/guardian.

We will have a safety boat to help out as well as a kayak instructional session beforehand for anyone who does not know how to paddle. Life Jackets and supplies will all be provided by Blackstone Valley River Tourism.

Meet at the Docks in front of the Parking lot at 1420 Broad Street-Central Falls, RI 02863.
